About

OTOMOTO is a design and ideas platform by artist Ryan Gander and creative director Tony Chambers. Launched initially at Milan’s Salone del Mobile with the creation of a compact, ergonomically designed kitchen sink system, OTOMOTO also generates product and content across all media.

Ryan Gander OBE RA is a British artist. Gander has produced a body of artworks in different forms, ranging from sculpture, apparel, writing, architecture, painting, typefaces, publications, and performance. Additionally, Gander curates exhibitions, has worked as an educator at art institutions and universities, and has written and presented television programmes on and about contemporary art and culture for the BBC. Gander is typically described as a conceptual artist, but this is a term he has refuted, referring instead to himself as "a sort of neo-conceptualist, Proper-'Gander'-ist, amateur philosopher".

Tony Chambers is the founder of creative agency TC & Friends. He is the editor of the definitive monograph of designer Paul Smith and the Co-Chair of Brainstorm Design, Fortune magazine’s design & business conference. He is the former Editor-in-Chief of Wallpaper* magazine, Art Director of British GQ and Art Editor of The Sunday Times Magazine, and a recipient of the Mark Boxer Award for outstanding services to the Publishing Industry – the most prestigious honour in British publishing.
